Air-Vice Marshal, M Mofidur Rahman, chairman of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) on April 3 stated that the flight operation on domestic routes will remain suspended immediately due to the enforcement of lockdown.

He stated, however, that the flights to international routes will operate as usual until further notice.

A notice regarding the suspension of the domestic flights will be released after the official announcement of lockdown, stated the CAAB chairman.

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader, on April 3, stated that the government is set to impose a 7-day lockdown from April 5 to stop the spread of coronavirus.

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, on the other hand, stated that the announcement of a countrywide 7-day lockdown would come within 2-3 days.

Both the ministers stated however that industries or essential services will remain out of the purview of lockdown.
