Advanced Chemical Industries (ACI) has won the first-ever FDA license for any of its drug manufacturing facilities, allowing it to better position itself in the world’s most strict and lucrative pharmaceuticals sector.
ACI Ltd announced on Wednesday that its subsidiary ACI Healthcare Ltd, based in Tripordi, Sonargaon, Narayanganj, had received US FDA authorization to produce and export the anticonvulsant pill Gabapentin.
The healthcare center is state-of-the-art, and ACI invested $100 million in it with the goal of exporting to the world’s most rigorous markets.
Due to rising finance expenses and its top-line growth aim for a brighter future in the competitive market, ACI had consolidated losses in the two pre-pandemic years. However, a drop in finance expenses in line with interest rates, as well as the introduction of increasingly profitable operations, enabled ACI to generate consolidated net profits in fiscal 2020-21.
