The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has confirmed to provide USD 2 billion loans to Bangladesh in 2021. Of the amount, USD 1.59 billion was for tackling the immediate effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
ADB informed this in its Annual Report 2021 published on April 26.
However, the bank offered USD 22.8 billion in 2021 including loans and guarantees, grants, equity investments, and technical assistance to governments and the private sector. Besides, cofinancing from the ADB totaled USD 12.9 billion. Of ADB’s 2021 commitments, USD 13.5 billion, or 59 percent, was given for pandemic response.
