Bangladesh may ask for USD 500 million more in budgetary aid from the World Bank at the upcoming IMF-WB spring meeting in Washington, as the government has made a bigger budget target this year.
Moreover, an extended support may also be requested from WB’s worth USD 93 billion three-year IDA-20 package, to be implemented during the fiscal year (FY) 2022-23 to FY2025, officials disclosed on April 8.
In the last IDA-19 help package, Bangladesh got confirmation of some USD 4.2 billion worth of assistance, the ERD officials said. Besides, The UN development financier last December informed a USD 93 billion replenishment package of the International Development Association (IDA) to assist low-income countries respond to the COVID-19 crisis.
