The government is planning to disburse Tk 20,000 crore to Covid-19 affected cottage, micro, small and medium enterprises (CMSMEs) in FY22. In July- August session, banks have given out Tk 300 crore financial assistance to the sector.
Now, The central bank has set targets for disbursement of the loans for 57 banks to disburse Tk 19,345 crore and five non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs) to disburse the rest 655 crore in the country.
Moreover, among the state-owned banks, Agrani Bank has been given the highest target of disbursing Tk790 crore, followed by the Janata Bank with Tk800 crores.
Under the incentive package, both working capital and term loans will be provided to CMSMEs sector.
The interest or profit rate of this loan will be a maximum of 9 per cent. The borrower will pay a maximum of 4 per cent of the interest on the loan and the remaining 5 per cent will be subsidized by the government.
