On Tuesday, the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association and the Skills for Employment Investment Program signed an agreement to improve the skills of mid-level managers and workers in the readymade garment industry.According to the contract, skill development training will be offered in two years as part of the SEIP project’s tranche-3, which is sponsored by the Asian Development Bank and implemented by the government’s Finance Division.
Workers and mid-level management currently engaged in garment factories will be re-skilled and up-skilled through training as part of the project, allowing them to improve their productivity and efficiency.Additionally, anyone interested in working in the RMG industry will receive skill training in a variety of trades at both the operator and manager levels.After completing their training, the trainees will be put in garment factories.
