Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi has stated that Beijing is eager to strengthen cooperation with Dhaka in the field of disaster response.
He made the remark while sending a condolence message to his Bangladesh counterpart, AK Abdul Momen, following the tragic fire at the Sitakunda container depot. Wang Yi stated in the message that he was shocked to learn about the fire at the Chattogram container depot and was deeply saddened by the deaths of the victims. The Chinese foreign minister expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and injured, and offered to provide necessary assistance to Bangladesh based on the country’s subsequent needs.
