Sugar prices at Hatirpool Kacha Bazar, New Market Kacha Bazar, Mohakhali Kacha Bazar, and Mugda Kacha Bazar have increased by nearly Tk 5 to 8 per kg in the previous week.
On the other hand, the majority of the vegetables in the market are available at Tk 60 to Tk 65 per kg.
Based on the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), onion prices increased by nearly 10 per cent, amounting to Tk 5 to Tk 10, in the previous week.
Local and imported onions are being sold at Tk 60 to Tk 80 per kg, local garlic at Tk 80 per kg, and imported garlic’s price is at Tk 130 per kg.
Local and imported ginger prices were at Tk 120 to Tk 140 per kg, meanwhile, the price of local ginger increased by nearly Tk 10 per kg in comparison to the previous week.
Based on the TCB, local turmeric prices increased by 19.05 per cent in comparison to the previous month.
Domestic and imported turmeric prices were set between Tk 220 and Tk 280 per kg.
In a similar case, the sugar prices have increased by Tk 5 per kg from the previous week to Tk 72 to 80.
Green chilli prices have decreased for this week and are being sold at Tk 80 to Tk 100.
On the other hand, potatoes are being sold at Tk 20 to Tk 25 per kg, eggplant at Tk 40 to Tk 50, and cucumber, snake gourd and sponge gourd are being sold at Tk 40 per kg with an increase of Tk 5 in comparison to the previous week.
Luffa and spiny gourd are being sold at Tk 35 to Tk 40 per kg and the bitter gourd is being sold at Tk 40 to Tk 48 per kg.
On top of that, per dozen of the broiler eggs are being sold at Tk 105, which was Tk 100 in the previous week.
At the retail level, four eggs are being sold at Tk 36 to Tk 38 while four duck eggs are being sold for Tk 50.
