According to participants at a workshop in the capital on Wednesday, noise pollution has reached an unbearable level in the country, posing a threat to human health and the environment.
According to environment ministry officials at the workshop, the Department of Environment has begun implementing a “Integrated and Partnership Project on Noise Pollution Control” to control noise pollution. Md. Shahab Uddin, Minister of Environment, Forests, and Climate Change, was the keynote speaker at the workshop titled “Role of Stakeholders in Noise Pollution Control,” which was hosted by the Department of Environment’s Integrated and Partnership Project on Noise Pollution Control.
According to the minister, the government will collaborate with various agencies such as the Department of Environment, Bangladesh Police, City Corporation, and BRTA to ensure that the declared silent areas are free of noise pollution.
