Checkpoint System Bangladesh Ltd-Unit 2, a Dutch-owned company, plans to establish a garments and accessories manufacturing industry in the BEPZA Economic Zone.
The company will invest $10.52 million to produce 1,319 million units of various types of hang tags, tickets, stickers, labels, and so on each year. According to a news release, 274 Bangladeshi nationals will be employed in this factory. On Tuesday, the Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (BEPZA) and Checkpoint System Bangladesh Ltd-Unit 2 signed an agreement to that effect at the BEPZA Complex in Dhaka.
Checkpoint System Bangladesh Ltd-Unit 2 would be the second enterprise under the same ownership in the BEPZA-managed industrial zones. Checkpoint Systems Bangladesh Limited, the first, has been in operation in Adamjee EPZ since 2009.
