UAE-Singapore-Owned Company to Invest $8.32M in Bepza Zone

Lee’s Tobacco Machinery Company Limited will invest $8.32 million in Bepza Economic Zone to manufacture tobacco processing machinery, creating 92 jobs for Bangladeshi workers. The UAE- and Singapore-owned company signed an agreement with Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) at a ceremony attended by Major General Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, Bepza’s executive chairman. Bepza’s investment promotion member, Md Ashraful Kabir, and Lee’s Tobacco Machinery Chairman, Li Meng, finalized the deal. Rahman highlighted the investment as a step toward diversifying Bangladesh’s export-oriented industries, while Meng emphasized knowledge transfer to local workers. The investment aims to strengthen Bangladesh’s industrial landscape by fostering expertise in machinery manufacturing.
