Between the months of June and August, the growth of broadband internet users in the nation came to a halt as individual and business users chose to lower their bills in the face of persistent inflation.
Bangladesh had only 5.7 million broadband subscribers in February 2020, but that number increased to about 10 million by December of the same year as more people began to rely on the internet for work, communication, study, and entertainment, particularly during the pandemic. But at the start of 2022, this growth appears to have slowed down. Up until August of this year, the number of broadband connections remained constant at 11.1 million over the course of three months.
