On Sunday, India offered Bangladesh its assistance in flood management and relief efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected people.
In his opening remarks at the Bangladesh-India Joint Consultative Commission (JCC) meeting held here this evening, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar stated that India would be delighted to be supportive because it would be consistent with the two countries’ relationship. According to sources, the 7th round of JCC meeting was co-chaired by Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr A K Abdul Momen, and various bilateral issues ranging from security, trade, business and investment, and cooperation in various sectors were prominently discussed.
He emphasized comprehensive management of 54 common rivers and their conservation, saying that these are areas where we must collaborate as part of our commitment to climate action.
