The International Blockchain Olympiad (IBCOL) 2021, a multidisciplinary design and building competition, is going to start from 8 October and end on 11 October.
For the first time Bangladesh is organizing the virtual program. It was previously held in Hong Kong.
State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak made the announcement at a press conference Wednesday. He said that now the big challenge was to provide information security and the government was working to address this challenge.
The IBCOL 2021 is being organized by the Division of Information and Communication Technology and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) on account of celebrating the golden jubilee of Bangladesh’s independence.
The theme of this year’s competition was “Inspirational Empowerment and Innovation”.
Students from all over the world are participating in the global contest, with prize money of more than $40,000 having been awarded to previous winners. Twelve countries will participate in the competition, with more than 50 teams from China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Philippines, UAE, Iran, Indonesia, Netherlands, Nepal, Mongolia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
