The digital financial platform of the country Nagad has recently signed a channel partnership agreement with iSocial at the iSocial head office at Banani, Dhaka.
Based on this agreement, Kallyani or young women entrepreneurs working in iSocial will work as Nagad Uddokta or agents.
These women entrepreneurs will be working on customer registrations and educating customers regarding Nagad services. At present 500 more Kallyani is working within the iSocial network.
The agreement was signed by Nagad Chief Sales Officer Mohammad Irfanul Huq and iSocial Chief Executive Officer Dr. Ananya Raihan.
Nagad Business Sales Head Md. Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Nagad Business Sales Senior Manager Kazi Monirul Islam, iSocial Director Masudur Rahman and iSocial Operation head Md. Farhan Shahriar were also present along with other officials.
Chief Sales Officer of Nagad Mohammad Irfanul Huq stated, “Nagad” is committed to assist the government of Bangladesh to achieve the targets of SDG.
“Nationwide financial inclusion is already the core mandate of “Nagad” and through this partnership with iSocial, we envision women to take the lead in it, fulfilling the mandate of gender equity.”
iSocial is a business network aiming to provide technology enabled last mile offerings of goods and financial services for women, children and adolescent girls in Bangladesh.
Through partnership and support from the ICT Division of Bangladesh Government, the organization plans to expand first to 16 districts deploying 1,000 Kallyani’s and then gradually throughout the whole nation deploying 10,000 Kallyani’s by the end of 2021.
