National Polymer Industries Limited, the plastic pipe and furniture manufacturer, has admitted to having made a mistake in calculating the earnings per share (EPS), 3 months into its financial disclosure for 3 quarters of FY21.
The manufacturer on September 7 disclosed the EPS with a correction, which is now lower than the earlier disclosures.
The company via a post on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) website stated that the EPS disclosed on May 11, 2021, was incorrect and now it is revised to Tk 0.91 in January-March and Tk 1.77 in July-March of FY21.
In the previous disclosure, the manufacturer mentioned its EPS as Tk 1.37 in the third quarter and Tk 2.68 in the first 3 quarters. After that, the share prices of the company increased by 27 per cent to Tk 70.
With the amended disclosure, the company’s share was traded at Tk 68.1 with a 2.16 per cent fall at the DSE on September 7.
