Nine Bangladeshi startups have snatched foreign investment capital worth $32 million in the first half of 2021, according to the Bangladesh Startup Ecosystem Report 2021 released by LightCastle Partners.
The different types of investments include venture fund, angels, corporate and DFI.
PaperFly has raised highest $11.8 million followed by Frontier Nutrition $6 million, Praava Health $5.6 million, Truck Lagbe $3 million, Data Bird $3 million, Maya $2.16 million, Alice $0.5 million, Arogga $0.2 million and Upskill 0.11 million in the January-June period of 2021.
Intelligent Machines raised $0.47 million from IDLC and Shuttle $0.4 million from Robi as local investment.
Prior, BKash have so far raised $81 million from Money in Motion, BRAC Bank, Gates Foundation and Ant Financial, ShopUp $28 million from Sequoia Capital India, Omidyar Network and Flourish Ventures, Paperfly $12.8 million from Ecom Express and many more.
Nota bene, The LightCastle Partners report also said that Bangladeshi startups had raised more than $300 million of foreign investment over the last decade.
