About 6 healthcare organizations are going to complete setting up PCR labs by today in the Hazrat Shahjalal international Airport (HSIA) as stated by the Expatriates’ Welfare Minister. However, one of them withdrew from the initiative.
The experimental run of the PCR testing has began last Saturday 25. The 6 healthcare organization will sent standard operating procedure (SOP) to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for approval.
Due to the absence of PCR testing facilities, various airlines have stopped registering bookings for people travelling to Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The expatriates have been requesting for setting up PCR facilities. The Gulf countries had made it mandatory for foreigners to get tested for Covid19 at a PCR lab no more than six hours before the flight.
The health minister on Thursday stated that these 6 labs will have 12 booths which will allow 3,500 to 4,000 people to get tested for Covid19.
