To make the financial system more inclusive and accessible to the public, state-owned BASIC Bank Limited introduced its “Magpie” app and client onboarding platform “BASIC i-Account,” both of which are digital platforms for banking services.
In a ceremony on Tuesday (March 14) at the bank’s headquarters in Dhaka, Sheikh Mohammad Salim Ullah, secretary, Financial Institutions Division, Ministry of Finance, inaugurated the services as the chief guest.
All financial services—including banking—are available on the app. The Magpie App offers a variety of banking services, including e-KYC based bank account opening without branch support, direct fund transfers to other banks through EFT, RTGS, and NPSB, add money, e-commerce/merchant payment, credit card bill payment, utility bill payment, ticketing and remittance service, and more. Also, the app allows you to add any card, account, or mobile banking service account, transfer money from any VISA or MasterCard, shop using a QR code, recharge your phone, instantly check your balance, pay your tuition, and get a card/account statement.
