By 2025, the government has drawn up a plan to produce 140 million kilograms of tea leaves in Bangladesh, according to the Bangladesh Tea Board.
Thirty-one million kilos of the total amount of tea leaves would be used to satisfy domestic demand, and ten million kilos would be exported.
The previous year also saw the production goal of 100 million kilograms of tea leaves. But due to work absences enforced by tea garden employees, the overall production fell short of the projected target.
