Rampal plant will start testing in June

Industry: Energy & Power, Power

According to a top official, Rampal Power Plant, one of Bangladesh’s massive coal-fired power plants, is expected to begin test commissioning in June 2023 because the Indo-Bangla joint venture power project has so far completed 80% of the work.

They expect to synchronize unit-2 at the factory by June 2023, having finished the Rampal joint venture’s physical progress by more than 80%. Due to a lack of coal, unit 1 of the Rampal facility was shut down for a few days. The facility will operate without a hitch over the next few days because an Indonesian ship carrying coal will soon land at Mongla port. To ensure proper coal supply and payment, we will operate the two units.

The plant implements Ultra Super Critical Technology and has cutting-edge amenities. Inaugurated in September 2022 by the Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh, Unit-1 of the 1320 MW power plant has already begun producing electricity for Bangladesh’s national grid. The project’s Unit-2 is projected to be finished soon.
