Speakers at a symposium on Tuesday emphasized the importance of greater collaboration and sharing of experiences in order to more effectively manage disaster risks.
Strengthening Urban Public-Private Programming for Earthquake Resilience (SUPER) Project, Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, non-governmental organizations ActionAid Bangladesh, United Purpose Bangladesh, and World Vision Bangladesh organized the National Symposium on Private Sector Participation and Leadership in Disaster Risk Management. Farah Kabir, country director of ActionAid Bangladesh, stated that collaboration between the private sector and government agencies is required to identify disaster risks and address them more effectively.
The European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations are funding the SUPER Project.
