Quasem Industries Limited reported a 107 per cent increase in earnings in the 2020-21 fiscal year, owing to capital gains.
The government compensated the company for acquiring some land in Tangail, resulting in half of the earnings.
In FY21, the country’s largest dry cell battery manufacturer had a profit of Tk9.16 crore, of which Tk4.59 crore came from government capital gains.
It earned a net profit of Tk4.41 crore in the previous fiscal year.
