In a workshop titled “training of trainers” jointly organized by the Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), Bangladesh Centre of Excellence (BCE) and National Resilience Programme (NRP) in the World Trade Centre (WTC) in Chittagong speakers in the event stated that a proper plan is needed to make sure the supply chain withstand various natural disasters like the pandemic continuing it’s operation. The first phase of the workshop was held last March.
The additional secretary of the planning commission stressed the need to improve the skill of the officials of business in the sector. After the completion of the project under the National Resilience Programme (NRP), the project would pass on to the private sector.
As stated by the UNDP programme analyst, among countries prone to risk for natural disaster, Bangladesh ranks the 6th position recommending participants of the workshop to study supply chain disruptions caused by the pandemic.
