Despite a drop in construction, RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh) Limited, the country’s top tile, and sanitary ware maker, has maintained revenues of Tk200 crore for the past two quarters. In a statement, the company stated that the company’s overall sales improved as a result of the redesigned and responsive business strategy, as well as greater cost control.
Sales of its tiles jumped 20 per cent and sales of sanitary goods gained 8 per cent in the January-March quarter of this year compared to the same period last year. RAK Ceramics Bangladesh earned Tk0.57 per share in the first quarter of 2022, compared to Tk0.50 in the same period the previous year rising by 14 per cent.
Sadhan Kumar Dey, chief operating officer (COO) and chief financial officer (CFO) of RAK Ceramics Bangladesh stated that following the Covid-19 pandemic, the Russia-Ukraine conflict has caused a construction delay due to rising construction material prices. Our products, on the other hand, are used in the final stages of building or in the interior area, so the impact of the downturn has yet to be felt. He also stated that tiles have not increased in price as much as other building materials.
From Q1 2021 to Q2 2021, its revenue declined by more than 11 per cent from Tk173.37 crore but from then on it rose to Tk200.79 crore in Q4 of 2021 rising by more than 30 per cent where it declined to Tk200.65 crore declining by less than 1 per cent.
