Bangladesh’s garment sector became the first in the world to have 160 factories certified by the USGBC’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program.
After recognizing three additional facilities as green, Bangladesh’s readymade garment sector is leading the globe in green manufacturing by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC).
The trend toward green manufacturing buildings, according to the textile producers, will assist to improve Bangladesh’s image among worldwide consumers. As of April 22, Bangladesh had 48 Platinum, 98 Gold, 10 Silver, and four LEED-certified manufacturing buildings.
