The stock market nosedived on Monday as the sellers booked and released them aggressively. Price correction of the heavyweight shares made the index down.
Both indices- Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) dropped, 80 scripts marked as red.
DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka bourse tumbled by 77.6 points or 1.07 per cent from Monday’s close. Moreover, blue-chip index DS30 fall to 0.89 per cent while Shariah Index DSES closed 1.43 per cent lower than the previous close.
On the other hand, one of the crucial indicators, Turnover at DSE went upward by 2.79 per cent to Tk 2,097 crore.
Telecommunication, Jute, Ceramics, Pharmaceuticals, Bank, IT, Textile, Fuel & Power, General Insurance, Engineering etc sectors declined significantly.
