Bangladesh recorded its highest ever single-month export earnings of $4.16 billion in September which made a strong turnaround witnessing a healthy growth of 11.37 per cent.
The export of goods during the three-month (July – Sep) period fetched $11,021.95 million surpassing the strategic target of $10,433 million having a growth of 5.65 per cent over the strategic target.
According to provisional data of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), The earnings were 37.99 per cent higher than the $3.01 billion and the export performance of Bangladeshi goods was $9,896.84 million in September of last year.
The single-month export earnings in September also experienced a staggering 39.17 per cent growth against the strategic target of $2,993 million.
However, the apparel shipment grew by 41.66 per cent in September this year compared to the same month last year as per the data published by EPB. The highest earnings, $1.90 billion came from knitwear shipment and woven items fetched $1.51 billion.
