On Saturday, the government launched the first-ever week-long campaign to provide Covid-19 booster doses, with a goal of reaching 1.42 crore individuals.
At Manikganj Col Malek Medical College Hospital, Health Minister Zahid Maleque launched the campaign, which will run till June 10th. He urged citizens who were eligible to receive booster dosages to do so as soon as possible.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will distribute booster doses to those aged 18 and up who have been four months since receiving the second dose of Covid vaccinations as part of the program. On the first day of the campaign, however, the number of people who received vaccinations was low.
Bangladesh has gathered 30 crore vaccine doses thus far, including bought, given, and aid vaccines. Through Covax, Unicef has distributed over 190 million doses of Covid-19 vaccination to Bangladesh.
