ZEE5, an Indian online video streaming platform and subsidiary of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited, formally launched in Bangladesh market with an aim to take Bangladeshi entertainment content to global audiences. The services was launched for Robi and Airtel subscribers.
ZEE5 is committed to taking Bangladeshi entertainment contents, including TV shows, movies, cine plays, health, life style videos in 17 language to global audiences, says the platform.
Archana Anand, chief business officer of ZEE5, said that ZEE5’s vision was establishing a deep partnership with Bangladesh by working closely with local talents and local production houses and giving them a global platform.
Since its launch across over 190 countries in 2018, ZEE5 has seen tremendous success across international markets. In just a few short weeks of launch, they claim to be No 1 platform in key South Asian Regional Cooperation (SAARC) markets like Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.
ZEE5 will offer Bangla content bouquet especially curated for Bangladesh including Originals across genres, Movies, TV Shows and Live Streaming channels like ZEE Bangla. They also plan to work with the local talent and production houses here for different shows and closely collaborate with them to showcase their talent on their global platform.
Robi and Airtel customers can choose between a daily or a weekly subscription pack to enjoy the content available on ZEE5. The daily pack is priced at Tk7 and the weekly pack is priced at Tk45. Through this partnership, customers will also be able to easily pay for a ZEE5 subscription from their mobile balance, if they are pre-paid customers, or have it included in their monthly bills, if they are post-paid customers of Robi and Airtel.
Robi and Airtel subscribers can access ZEE5 from five different devices at a time, allowing them complete freedom to watch the world class entertainment content on mobile phones, tablets, laptops, desktops, smart TVs, etc. They also can use Robi’s countrywide 4.5G network.
