Shomvob, a Dhaka-based B2B jobtech and HR tech platform in Bangladesh, has secured $1 million in pre-seed funding, led by Singapore-based venture capital firm Cocoon Capital. The company had previously received a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to create job opportunities for low-income women in Bangladesh.
The new funding will be utilized to develop a comprehensive Human Resources Information System (HRIS) to streamline HR processes and improve access to job opportunities, particularly for historically underserved groups. Founded in May 2022, Shomvob aims to support the blue and silver-collar workforce. Since its inception, it has registered over 600,000 job seekers and more than 1,300 companies, facilitating over 12,000 job placements across various sectors.
