City Bank has appointed Arup Haider as the new Deputy Managing Director (DMD). Previously, he served as Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Retail Banking. Since joining City Bank in 2016, Arup has significantly contributed to the growth of its retail banking sector, transforming credit and collection processes, and boosting the bank’s credit card business. He also played a key role in developing Citytouch, the bank’s popular digital banking platform.
Arup started his banking career as a management trainee at Prime Bank in 2003 and has worked at BRAC Bank and Standard Chartered, gaining expertise in SME underwriting and consumer credit. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in economics from the University of Calcutta and an MBA from the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka.
