The Bangladeshi government has approved a procurement plan to purchase soybean oil and lentils worth Tk 537 crore from the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) for low-income groups. The proposal was approved at a Cabinet Committee on Government Procurement meeting, chaired by Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmud Ali. The purchase will be sold at a subsidized price to TCB family cardholders. The lowest bidder for the soybean oil is Super Well Refinery Limited, with the total cost of the purchase being Tk 332 crore.
