Turnover at the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) surpassed Tk 1,000 crore after two months, with a 14.69% increase to Tk 1,019 crore. The DSEX index rose 30.01 points to 5,594.64, the DSES index gained 8.18 points to 1,223.32, and the DS30 index increased 4.63 points to 1,964.53. Out of 393 traded issues, 237 advanced, 111 declined, and 45 remained unchanged. Fuel and power led gains with 0.77%, followed by engineering (0.74%) and pharmaceuticals (0.31%). Banks fell 0.14%, telecom 0.41%, non-bank financial institutions 0.44%, and food & allied 0.75%. Block trades accounted for 5.3% of turnover. The most traded share had a turnover of Tk 53.6 crore. Sector-wise, ceramics, services and real estate, and IT closed positively, while food and allied, life insurance, and NBFI closed negatively. Pharmaceuticals led the turnover chart with 14.37%. The highest gainer rose 10%, while the worst performer fell 2.99%.
