India’s budget for 2024-25 allocates 120 crore rupees to Bangladesh, down 80 crore rupees from the previous year. The Ministry of External Affairs’ total development assistance is 4,883 crore rupees. Bhutan receives the highest aid at 2,068.56 crore rupees, reduced from 2,400 crore rupees last year. Aid to Maldives remains 400 crore rupees, while Nepal’s allocation increases to 700 crore rupees from 550 crore rupees. Sri Lanka and Seychelles see increased allocations to 245 crore and 40 crore rupees, respectively. Afghanistan’s aid stays at 200 crore rupees. The MEA budget for FY 2024-25 is 22,155 crore rupees, up from 18,050 crore rupees but below the revised 29,121 crore rupees for FY 2023-24.
