Mohammad Mohon Miah has been appointed as the additional managing director of Standard Bank, where he is currently serving as the acting managing director and CEO. Mohon spearheaded the bank’s transition to a Shariah-based Islami Bank in 2021. His extensive experience includes roles at Islami Bank Bangladesh as deputy managing director and head of corporate investments. With over three decades in the banking sector, Mohon has held various key positions such as head of branch and zone, head of business development, and chief risk officer. He holds a post-graduate degree in Islamic history and culture from the University of Dhaka and a PhD in finance and banking from Oxford Trent University, USA.
