Four deputy governors of the Bangladesh Bank have agreed to resign amid growing condemnation from bank officials, who accused them of enabling financial mismanagement and plundering. Deputy Governor Kazi Sayedur Rahman has already submitted his resignation, while the others have committed to doing so soon. Protesters escorted the deputy governors out of their offices, demanding accountability for the alleged mishandling of the country’s financial resources. Only Deputy Governor Nurun Nahar will remain temporarily to oversee administrative approvals. The unrest follows accusations that these officials facilitated irregularities and were involved in mismanagement, which they have denied, citing constraints under previous conditions.
