Hundreds of Bangladesh Bank employees protested against top officials, accusing them of financial mismanagement and aiding reserve theft. The protesters demanded the resignation of the governor and four deputy governors. Four deputy governors agreed to resign under pressure, with one submitting a formal resignation letter. The other three verbally agreed but haven’t submitted written resignations yet. The head of the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit also left his position. The central bank spokesperson stated that the interim government will process the resignations and that a new deputy governor will approve salaries and allowances until the situation is resolved.
