Bangladesh Bank has imposed a temporary cash withdrawal limit of one lakh taka per account to prevent misuse of funds amid heightened withdrawal pressures from political and business circles. This restriction applies only to cash withdrawals, with digital transactions and fund transfers remaining unaffected. The central bank has also halted fund disbursements from head offices to branches and encouraged check payments. This measure is intended to maintain stability during the government transition and address the existing cash pressure.
