The ongoing floods in Bangladesh have damage worth Tk2000 crore and impacted the fisheries and livestock sectors across 86 upazilas in the Chattogram, Sylhet, and Khulna divisions. The fisheries sector suffered Tk1,590.36 crore in damages, with 180,899 ponds and farms affected, leading to the loss of 90,768 metric tons of fish and shrimp. The livestock sector reported over Tk411 crore in damages, including losses of cattle, poultry feed, and infrastructure. To aid recovery, the government announced measures including emergency animal feed distribution, vaccinations, and grass supplies. Fish farmers will receive easy-term loans, infrastructure support, and training, along with improved flood forecasting systems to prevent future losses.
