Bangladesh Bank appointed a new five-member board for Global Islami Bank, with Nurul Amin, former Meghna Bank MD, as chairman. The board includes Jamal Mollah, ex-Bangladesh Bank executive director; Nurul Islam Khalifa, former deputy MD of Islami Bank; Abu Hena Reza Hassan, a Dhaka University professor; and Mahmud Hossain, a chartered accountant. All members are independent directors, a move aimed at strengthening governance and oversight in the bank. This restructuring reflects the central bank’s ongoing efforts to enhance transparency and improve the management of financial institutions.
