The Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Limited plans to increase its paid-up capital significantly by issuing new shares, following approval from the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC). The company will issue 20 crore 10 lakh 80 thousand common shares with a premium of 10 taka each, raising its paid-up capital by Tk 402 crore 16 lakh. Additionally, 764 crore 11 lakh 6 thousand 23 preference shares, each with a face value of 10 taka, will be issued, increasing the paid-up capital by Tk 7 thousand 641 crore 10 lakh 60 thousand 230. The total capital increase from this share issuance will amount to Tk 8 thousand 43 crore 26 lakh 60 thousand 230, elevating the company’s current paid-up capital of Tk 712 crore 72 lakh 70 thousand by 11.29 times. This move fulfills the condition for issuing new shares against the equity money deposited by the power department.
