HSIA Marks Significant Service Improvements With the Regime Change

Industry: Aviation

Services at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA), Bangladesh’s largest airport, have significantly improved, leading to quicker passenger processing. Recent changes, including the appointment of a new chairman for the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh, have contributed to these enhancements. Previously, passengers faced long queues, delays, and harassment from officials, but now they experience faster check-ins and baggage retrieval, with minimal wait times and no harassment.

Passengers have noted substantial improvements, citing quick baggage delivery times of 20 and 25 minutes, respectively, compared to previous waits of two to three hours. HSIA Executive Director emphasized the airport’s commitment to providing high-quality services, particularly for remittance earners, and highlighted the establishment of cost-free help-desks to assist passengers.
