The Bangladesh Power Division has responded to Gautam Adani’s request for payment, assuring that the government will clear overdue payments to Adani Power in the shortest time possible. Since the interim government took office in August, Bangladesh Power Development Board (PDB) has paid $60 million to Adani Power, with $30 million paid after September 11. The outstanding amount stands at around $800 million for power supplied by Adani’s 1,496 MW Godda plant. Payment delays have been due to foreign exchange constraints, which are gradually improving. The PDB continues periodic payments and is committed to resolving the issue swiftly.
