Sheikh Mohammad Maroof, a veteran banker with nearly 30 years of experience, has been appointed managing director of Dhaka Bank PLC, effective October 1, 2024. Previously, he served as additional managing director and chief business officer at City Bank. Throughout his career, Maroof has held key roles, including deputy managing director and head of wholesale banking and treasury.
Starting his career at American Express Bank in 1995, Maroof has gained expertise in corporate, treasury, retail, trade, and micro-financing, along with significant contributions to derivative products, foreign exchange markets, mergers, and offshore banking in Bangladesh. Dhaka Bank is optimistic about benefiting from his leadership and vast experience. Maroof holds a master’s degree in finance from the University of Dhaka and is a certified corporate banker.
