Doreen Power has announced the closure of its 22 megawatt (MW) power plant in Feni, alongside the sale of its non-current assets. This decision stems from delays in extending the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with the Bangladesh Power Development Board, leading to prolonged uncertainty. The company’s board approved a vendor agreement with Trust Marine Services to sell the plant’s engines, alternators, substation equipment, building, and steel structures for Tk 10.05 crore. The land associated with the plant will be sold separately at a competitive market price in the future. Following the announcement, shares of Doreen increased by 0.92 percent to Tk 22 on the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) as of 12:08 pm today.
