Vegetable prices have surged, with most selling at Tk 100 per kilogram or higher, doubling in just one and a half months due to decreased production and crop damage from persistent rain and flooding. Many farmers have struggled to cultivate early winter vegetables, leading to significant price hikes. Reports from vendors indicate a 50% reduction in vegetable supply, with beans priced at Tk 400 per kg due to crop loss. While egg prices have slightly decreased, they remain above government-set rates, selling at Tk 160-170 per dozen. Customers are buying less as they face rising costs, and traders attribute high prices to supply shortages and demand fluctuations. Despite a relaxation of onion export conditions from India, onion prices have increased to Tk 125-130 per kg.
