The Dhaka Stock Exchange’s prime index, DSEX, fell to a four-month low, dropping 97.24 points (1.85%) to close at 5,160. Key losses were seen in large-cap stocks, notably BRAC Bank, which fell 10.51%. Only Taufika Foods and Lovello Ice-cream PLC posted minor gains of 0.95%. The DSES and DS30 indices also declined, while turnover increased by 18.09% to Tk 362 crore, with the banking sector dominating. The engineering sector recorded the highest loss at 2.63%, whereas the non-bank financial institution sector gained 3.65%. The Chittagong Stock Exchange followed suit, with its index dropping 271.54 points (1.83%) to 14,549.
