Sylhet Gas Fields Limited (SGFL) has discovered gas while renovating an old well in Haripur, estimating a daily extraction of 7 to 8 million cubic feet from well-7 at a depth of 1,200 meters. This follows an earlier find on August 14, which yielded 6-7 million cubic feet at 2,000 meters. Currently, 60-70 million cubic feet of gas from various Sylhet fields supply the national grid, with well-7 expected to be connected soon. Complete reserve assessments will take about a week. SGFL aims to boost production from over 100 million cubic feet daily to 150 million by year-end and potentially add 250 million cubic feet to the grid by 2025.
