Titas Gas reported a Tk188.63 crore loss in Q1 FY25, compared to a Tk7 crore profit last year, citing system losses (8.63%, above the 2% limit) and changes in tax laws. The abolition of tax exemptions led to Tk132 crore in minimum tax payments, up from Tk6 crore. Revenue declined by 9.73% to Tk8,267 crore due to reduced gas supply to power and industrial sectors. Additionally, Titas plans to issue Tk282.75 crore in preference shares to the government and announced a 5% cash dividend despite losses.
